1 Minute Stop Motion Animation

For this 1 Minute Stop Motion project your animation will need to be no shorter than, yes, you guessed it, 1 Minute. 1 percentage point will be taken off for each second your animation is under 1 Minute. However, once you've surpassed the 1 Minute mark, your animation can be as long as you like.
Your 1 minute animation MUST HAVE A NARRATIVE!
If you recall, this means that you will need to tell a story that's clear for your audience to understand.

Your 1 minute Animation should have the following:
1. It must be 1 minute, no less.
2. It must have Sound Effects and a Soundtrack.
3. You can use talking in your 1 minute Animation, but it is not required.

4. Your Animation must have Close Up Shots that will engage the audience. Your Animation should NOT be filmed from just 1 Long Shot. Add a variety of shots to your repertoire.

Your 1 Minute Stop Motion Animation Project is due by the end of class on Thursday, November 11th. This will be an 'Anchor Assignment', which means that when we're not working on tutorials or other exercises in class, you should be working on this project.

This Project is worth 1/5th of your Final Grade.

Stop Motion Animation Bump

This will be the first of many creative endeavors for this class.
With any creative project, you will need to take the time to think about what your final product will look like.
I cannot emphasize enough how important the 'Pre-Production' portion of any project you create in this class, will be.
You will use our class time today to ponder what your Video Bulletin Bump will look and sound like.
My expectations are higher for this class, this year, than what they were for my last year's Computer Animation Class.
Remember, these Bumps will be seen by the entire school, so make them visually interesting and entertaining. This is an opportunity for your creativity to be appreciated by the masses.
While you finish brainstorming today, think hard about what type of Sound Effects (SFX) we'll hear in your Bump, along with what song you will add to your final edit.
You can also spend time building your sets, backdrops, or characters out of any of the materials you are using. Once you have completed that, you can begin to film your Stop Motion Animation.

YOU MUST CLEAN UP THOROUGHLY AT THE END OF EACH CLASS PERIOD BY POLICING AND CLEANING YOUR DESK AND THE FLOOR AROUND YOU. YOUR SUBSTITUTE WILL NOT LET YOU LEAVE UNTIL HE IS HAPPY WITH HOW WELL YOU HAVE CLEANED UP YOUR AREA.

Your Brainstorm or Storyboard will include the following information:

1. Explanation of what will happen in your Bump.
2. What props/action figures/materials will you use?
3. What type of SFX will we hear?
4. What song will be used as your Soundtrack?

Your Video Bulletin Bump will be 10-15 seconds long.
